Floyd Mayweather entertains a packed house at Yas Island Etihad Arena

Abu Dhabi Boxing Unity Event night featured some of the biggest names in boxing and MMA, including Floyd Mayweather and Anderson Silva, in front of a sold-out crowd at Yas Island’s Etihad Arena. Floyd Mayweather gave a spectacular performance while facing dangerous Don Moore in eight rounds entertaining fans until the very last second of the high-octane fight. 

 

Anderson Silva, Badou Jack, and Delfine Persoon were cheered on by a jubilant crowd as they claimed their victories. This was one of the most anticipated events on Abu Dhabi’s sporting calendar this year. Two homegrown fighters Hany Atiyo and Bruno Machado competed in the Abu Dhabi Boxing Unity Event with Badou Jack and Anderson Silva respectively – attracting an enthusiastic crowd.

 

As part of Abu Dhabi’s Summer Like You Mean It campaign, the action-packed fight night was held at the electrifying venue on Yas Island, further cementing Abu Dhabi’s reputation as a premier sports tourism destination. The city has built a reputation as a world-class host of high profile international sporting events, including UFC Fight Island in 2020 and 2021, the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the HSBC Abu Dhabi Golf Championship, the Indian Premier League, and the World T20 Cricket Championship.
